2. One of the things that you have to understand about phone cameras is that megapixels matter. However, megapixels are not all that it takes. The iPhone 6 camera is only 6 megapixels, however the Galaxy counterpart, Galaxy S6, has a 16 megapixel shooter. HDR mode cam help with this, and it was probably helped with this photo. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, which can improve the quality of photos.
3. There are certainly apps that people use to improve the quality of images. Some might use artificial HDR or other affects. Just because it says taken by a phone camera doesn't mean that it used the default camera .
4. USE HDR MODE! If you don't know where or what this does, then is is usually in the camera settings. On Android, you can edit the camera quick settings. However on iOS, there is a toggle on the top of the camera settings.
